Project Cosmos represents a pioneering initiative at the intersection of blockchain technology and space exploration, undertaken by [BuffyBot](https://twitter.com/MarcoTheBLK) Publishing in collaboration with the Ascension Sciences Team. This groundbreaking project set out to send up to 750 NFTs, including those from the **SpaceBudz** collection, into space for a 30-day mission. Each selected NFT was printed onto a digital card with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, embodying a fusion of tangible and digital collectible forms.

The significance of Project Cosmos extends beyond its novelty. It served as a practical experiment to assess the effects of space's harsh radiation environment on digital memory stored in EEPROMs, contributing valuable insights to the field of aerospace engineering. Moreover, this initiative provided a unique opportunity for NFT owners to have their digital assets journey beyond the Earth's atmosphere, thereby adding an unparalleled dimension to the concept of digital collectibility.

Through Project Cosmos, participants could engage in an extraordinary form of scientific inquiry, blending the realms of blockchain-based digital assets with empirical space science research. This endeavor not only highlighted the versatility and potential applications of NFT technology but also underscored the innovative spirit of the Cardano community, paving the way for future projects that might further bridge the gap between blockchain technology and various scientific domains.<br>
